Imaginary Friends by Andy Griffiths Reviewed by 5H
‘Imaginary Friends’ is a short story written by Andy Griffiths, a well-known children’s author. The story ‘Imaginary Friends’ is featured in a book titled ‘Just Annoying!’ which also contains eight other ‘annoyingly’ funny stories. This story aims to entertain readers of all ages.

‘Imaginary Friends’ is set in Andy’s home (the main character). The two characters in this story are both ‘weird’ and ‘wacky’. Andy is a devious ten-year old who is determined to get out of going to the school sports carnival. He has a zany imagination that usually gets him into hilarious situations. Andy’s mum is sick and tired of his tricks. She is strong-willed and shares Andy’s sarcastic personality.

‘Imaginary Friends’ follows the story of Andy. To get out of participating in his school sports carnival, he concocts an imaginary friend called ‘Fred’ whom is sick and needs Andy’s undivided attention. Andy’s mum sees through Andy’s scheme and comes up with an ingenious plan to teach him a lesson.

The most entertaining part of this story was watching Andy’s plans backfire- everything kept on going from bad to worse! We laughed when Andy was made to make a bed for Fred to sleep in and dropped it on his toe.

We would rate this story eight out of ten. Andy Griffiths captured our imagination with his lovable characters and his hilarious storyline. The characters in this story are easy to relate to. Everyone has a little Andy inside them trying to get out!

We recommend this story for children who have a good sense of humour and a mischievous side to their personality. People who dislike this story should contact their doctor because there is obviously something wrong with them!

Kindergarten P party
On Tuesday the 11th of August, KW, KTC, KPD and KC had a "P" party.

All the students wore an outfit starting with P. There were princesses, pirates, pop stars, police and many other characters.

Even the teachers and Mr Dewar wore something special. Mrs Dignam wore her pyjamas, Miss Wright was a pirate, Mrs Pearce was a pop star and Mrs Clay and Mrs Tighe came dressed in pink.

Kindergarten will certainly remember the letter P.

Year 6 Electrical Circuits

As a part of our unit on Physical Phenomena, Year 6 explored how to make an electric circuit. For homework, we designed and made a model of how an electric circuit could be used in a real-life situation. We had everything from bedroom lights to lamps, fridge lights to toilet ‘in use’ signs and street or traffic lights to light houses. Great fun was had by all, including our parents.
