Pushcart Challenge
|

On Wednesday the 20th August, 5H and 4/5/6P went on a bus to the Eastern Creek Raceway Pushcart Tecnochallenge to race our pushcart.
When we arrived there we collected all our stuff and went to our garage. Then we had something to eat and assembled the pushcart again.
After that we did a race and the NRMA people said our pushcart was excellent. The next race was the obstacle course. We came second in that one.
In the sprint race we came first. The last thing was the safety test. That was fun because we got to walk across the road while the pushcarts were coming!
Finally we went to the presentation area where we received an award but we tied with another team so they have taken it with them.
We all had a fun day.

Michael Salmon is coming on Monday 18th August
|
We are very excited to have the opprtunity to have Michael Salmon visit our school during book week. He is a very well known author and illustrator.
Michael has been extensively touring Australian Schools since 1975, his hour-long interactive sessions are lots of fun, with lightning fast cartoons, caricatures, silly prizes and general encouragement for students to develop their own creativity. Many of these school visits can be seen on his web site at www.michaelsalmon.com
Michael will also be available for book signing after 2:30pm on Monday and will have copies of his books for sale.

A night in the Park
|

A night in the Park concert was held at Shellharbour Workers Club. It was an amazing showcase of the talent in the Albion Park community of public schools.
The concert was a combined effort of the children and staff at Albion Park Public, Albion Park High, Tullimbar Public and Mount Terry Public.
All students from Mount Terry are to be congratulated on their outstanding behaviour and appearance at the performance. You were a credit to our school!
Thank you to the parents for their support in transporting and clothing the children in the correct uniform. I am sure you will agree that Mount terry students looked spectacular. It ws wonderful to see so many Mount terry parents at the performance.
I would also like to thank the team of teachers involved in making this concert happen. Without their talent, dedication and hours of tireless work, concerts of this calibre would not be possible.

Jump Rope for Heart World Record Attempt
|

143 Mount Terry students participated in the Jump Rope for Heart world record attempt today at exactly 11:30am.
The Heart Foundation of Australia attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the number of children skipping at the one time.
It was a very exciting moment as the 143 students began the 3 minute skip.
We are very proud of them and of their supporters.

K-2 Cross Country
|

Despite a cold and breezy day K-2 children enjoyed participating in our annual Cross Country event on 3rd April.
Many parents, grandparents and friends cheered enthusiastically as the children competed in grade groups, then stayed to enjoy a picnic lunch.
All children successfully completed the course. Their training in fitness lessons certainly paid off.
