MS READATHON NEWS
|
The children of Mount Terry Primary School are to be congratulated for a tremendous effort in raising a whopping $6817.50 for the 2007 MS Readathon.
In reading their way to this record for our school, they have helped raise funds for MS research into this debilitating disease and have also managed to achieve a 70% completion rate, which has resulted in the school receiving a new Kodak digital camera. Mrs Dawson was presented with the camera at the assembly last Monday.
A big thank you to all those involved. Congratulations and thanks.

Fantastic Fete
|
What a great day.
We spent the day browsing stalls, eating great tasting cakes and BBQ and riding on the dodgem cars and giant slide as well as other rides and activities.
Not only was the day great fun we also raised lots of money for our school.
Congratulations to the P&C members who organised the fete and to the teachers and parents who ran stalls.

Photography workshops
|
We were very privileged today to have a visit from a renowned photograher Caroline who presented an in depth workshop for our year 5 school photographers.
The students learnt about composition, depth of field, rule of thirds and seeing through photograhers eyes. They were given a photo assignment and enjoyed having their best efforts printed out on photo paper.
The staff were also able to attend an after school workshop and to view some of Caroline's award winning photos.

Whats happening in 5P?
|
Our week has been very interesting with Mrs Bowles. We have been learning about honesty, kindness and responsibility.
Our class meetings are on Friday afternoons before home time. We have been talking about our improvement in our work.
On Tuesday afternoon straight after lunch we were making a percussion text for a piece of music called "The typewriter" composed by Leroy Anderson. Our class thought it was very interesting and fun. We also learnt something new.
We have been making a picture of our dads and their favourite things. They are looking very interesting.
For the past term Mrs Testa and Miss Harris have been teaching us about electricity. With Mrs Testa we are making up an energy song and with Miss Harris we have been doing a project on lighting and energy.
